Erongo RED and MTC recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Walvis Bay. Speaking at the event, Erongo RED’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Immanuel !Hanabeb said that the objective of signing the MOU is for Erongo RED and MTC to enter into a strategic partnership agreement in order to facilitate the provision of digital solutions and innovation.
“Erongo RED’s key strategic objectives include acceleration of automation. Therefore, through this objective, the company is aiming to implement a secure and reliable ICT infrastructure that enables business functions. We are living in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), which is mainly driven by the Internet of Things (IoT)”, he said.
!Hanabeb further said that among other objectives, “the MoU will serve as a framework and guide on how both parties will jointly identify areas of cooperation and development, especially in the areas of Digital Transformation, Smart grid, Smart Home and the development and promotion of new prepaid electricity vending solutions through MTC’s digital channels.”
Co-signing the MoU on behalf of MTC was the Acting Managing Director, Mrs. Patience Kanalelo who said, “Since 2021, MTC has aggressively gone out into the public space to form strategic partnerships with instrumental key players in the entire Namibian private and public operating landscape.”
“This has been a deliberate strategy, which MTC through the guidance of our Board of Directors has strongly advocated for, to ensure the realization of strategic smart partnerships between MTC and stakeholders for mutual benefits. MTC will therefore engage robustly and constructively with Erongo RED as one of our key strategic partners” Kanalelo further alluded.
Management members of both entities and the media attended the signing ceremony.
