Erongo RED, the Erongo Regional Electricity Distributor, officially celebrated its 20th anniversary on 1 July 2025, a significant milestone in powering communities and driving development across the region.

To commemorate this achievement, the company hosted a series of events throughout June and July 2025, bringing together staff, stakeholders, and the public.

The celebrations kicked off on 13 June 2025 with a Team-Building Day for all employees, fostering teamwork and unity. On 14 June 2025, members of the media were treated to a fun-filled Media Cook-Off in Swakopmund, held as a token of appreciation for their ongoing support in sharing Erongo RED’s journey with the public.

On the company’s official birthday, 1 July 2025, all Erongo RED offices and regional pay points held small celebratory events featuring cake and giveaways for lucky customers. This was a symbolic way to honour the people who matter most, our loyal customers.

Another highlight was the 20th Anniversary Stakeholder Gala Dinner, held on 25 July 2025 in Swakopmund. The evening brought together shareholders and key stakeholders and featured a keynote address by Mr. Moses Pakote, Executive Director in the Ministry of Industrialisation, Mines and Energy, who spoke on behalf of the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister and Minister, Hon. Natangwe Ithete. Also in attendance at the event were the Governor of the Erongo Region, Hon. Natalia /Goagoses, and the Mayor of Swakopmund, His Worship Councillor Blasius Goraseb.

In her address, the Governor remarked: “Erongo RED is not just a utility; you are a vital development partner and a catalyst for regional progress. As your former colleague and now the regional steward, I am proud of how far you have come and excited for what lies ahead.”

Celebrations continued with a vibrant Schools Soccer Tournament over the weekend of 26–27 July 2025 at the Swakopmund Football Club. Eighteen schools from across the Erongo Region participated. The tournament concluded with Kuisebmund Secondary School (KSS) clinching the title after defeating SI Gobs Secondary School, 2–1 in the final.

To close off the anniversary activities, Erongo RED is planning a marathon event scheduled for November 2025. More details on the marathon will be shared soon on our social media platforms and in the press.
